Barn Door assist the launch of the Quinton Fortune Football Academy
Last month, Barn Door client and ex-Manchester United and South Africa footballer, Quinton Fortune, launched the Quinton Fortune Football Academy.
The Academy is a training programme for 6-13 year olds based on the FA Four Corners Model and covering all aspects of technical, physical, psychological and social development. This year, the academy will be rolled out nationally and will enable kids to use the power of football to aid their own sporting and personal development.
Speaking on Friday, Quinton said, ‘I’m delighted to launch the first Quinton Fortune Football Academy here in Manchester – a city that provided me with so much as a player. The ability football has to bring kids together and help them to grow and develop is fantastic. Growing up in South Africa, I saw this first hand, and that is why the academy means so much to me. I’m thankful to both Barn Door and my businesses partners for helping me put the plan into action.’
The QFFA is a perfect example of Barn Door in operation. Connecting a well-known sports star who has both a passion for business and a reputable image, to an entrepreneur who was willing to back this venture and provide expert advice in terms of the academy’s development as a business.
Our Head of Sport, Ben Peppi, said ‘I’m particularly pleased with this project for a number of reasons. Linking a retired sports star to an entrepreneur in order to launch a new business venture that will aid young sportsmen and women’s development both as footballers and as people is a great initiative and one we are delighted to have been involved with’.
